STUDENT LOAD POLICY

 

College students may carry a maximum academic load of 21 units per semester, or as required by the course curriculum, in addition to P.E., NSTP, Work Education and Reli-gious studies. Normally a student is not allowed to carry an overload. However, graduat-ing students may be permitted to enroll up to six (6) additional academic units, provided they show satisfactory performance ratings in previous terms.

 

Courses with prerequisites may be enrolled only after passing the required subject. The number of units allowed for students should be based upon his scholastic record of achievement and workload. The following scale provides for the allowable load based upon the student’s GPA or grade from the previous semester.

Graduating Students

 

A graduating student may be allowed a maximum of 30 units during the last year, pro-vided his GPA is not below what is required by his respective department.

 

Non-Academic Courses

 

Avocational or work education class of is included in the count of academic load. These may be taken above the allowable number of units based on the student’s general point average. Physical Education and Nation-al Service Training Program (NSTP) are added to the student’s allowable load when the student is graduating or when a Theology student and a nursing student is entering externship or the Nursing clinical division, respectively. New students shall follow the same scale depending on their general point average or its equivalent in the grading sys-tem.
